July Holiday

Welcome to my July Holiday!

Here is a list of holidays in July that I celebrate:

July 4: Independence Day (US)
Christmas in July (don't forget to visit!)

The word "July" is named for Julius Caesar, a Roman military and political leader. The gem for July is ruby (for happiness and beauty) and the flower is water lily (for success).

I don't have anything special that I like to do in July. No matter where I have lived, this is always a very hot month. Here in the desert, this is the beginning of our rainy season. We get about half of our annual rainfall between July and September!

I do usually attend a BBQ or picnic with friends. I love fireworks, although I have not physically attended a firework celebration in years. Last year, we were visiting friends who lived on a hill.When people started their fireworks displays, we were able to see them all around us, 360 degrees! I have to say that was probably the best fireworks display that I have witnessed.

A few years ago, my husband and I visited a Vietnam Memorial in Angel Fire, New Mexico. My husband and many of the people who were with us at the time, are all Vietnam vets. I think being with all of these people at this special place brought home the meaning of freedom and independence to me.

Ebony is the Guardian of Freedom and Expression and has recently moved to the July Holidays to watch over all of the inhabitants.
