June Holiday

Welcome to my June Holiday!

Another definite improvement, in my opinion, over the old June section. I think the inhabitants are all very happy.

Here is a list of holidays in June that I celebrate:

June 14: Flag Day
Third Sunday of June: Father's Day
June 21: Summer Solstice or Midsummer

The word "June" is derived from Juno, the Roman Goddess who was the wife of Jupiter and patroness of women. The gem for June is pearl (for wisdom and faithfulness) and the flower is rose (for love).

On Midsummer's Eve, I love to watch "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Legend", "Dark Crystal" and "Labyrinth" althought not necessarily all in the same evening. From the moment of the summer solstice, the journey into harvest season begins. Midsummer's Eve is the favorite time for faeries. I usually make some type of faerie dust and always light a fire of some sort. I often make dream pillows on this night as well.

Father's Day is in June. I have adopted faeries for Father's Day. I just love this father fairy with his children!! maybe it's the butterflies :)

This is a Limited Edition father pixie with his son. They are from Enchanted Hollow.

As I mentioned, Midsummer is a favorite time for the fae folk. These fairies are celebrating Midsummer, or the Summer Solstice, also known as Litha.

Soleil is another beautiful summer faerie from ~Angel~ :)

I have had some other summer visitors who have decided to make their home here with the other faeries. I do know know for certain where they came from. This is Verda.

I just love love love the beach. The only time I get to go to a beach party is when it is a virtual beach party. I am pretty sure this party was sponsored by The Site Fights.

Isn't she cool! This is Fire Woman and she is a flaming spirit. I am also positive that she came from The Site Fights. She is a firewalker.

We do have some Father's Day adoptions that just arrived. How many potted cacti do you find these days? We are so lucky to have this one here with us. And we also have a beautiful Father's Day hot air balloon stamp. Have you ever been on a hot air balloon ride? We just love them! We love boating too, and now we have our very own boat :)

Now it is time to take a rest and have some tea with the faeries.
