I began working on this page September 11, 2001. This is a day that will forever be emblazoned on my memory. I do not think that anyone cannot be touched by this tragedy. Humanity has been attacked. Humanity is under seige. I stil have not been able to sort out my feelings about all of this. I live in New Mexico, so I am far from the events that have transpired. I do know people who are from New York or Washington. I know people who visit there. And I have made so many online friends from those places, particularly New York. This tragedy has touched everyone. No matter how far removed you may think you are, you have been touched in a way that cannot be erased. Putting pages together like this does many things for people. For some of us, it is a way of expressing our grief and sadness at this tragedy. Or it becomes a way to show solidarity and support.

I am a member of many online groups. On these groups, so much discussion has been taking place as people were first shocked, then saddened, and angry. I myself have gotten over the numbness, but still feel shocked. It's as though this is all a movie, and hasn't *really* occurred. But, I know it has. I have such sadness in my heart. Thus, it has become difficult for me to concentrate on much besides New York. Within the online groups, people have begun creating graphic images to display on websites to show the support that we all have. So, these pages are basically to display some of those grahics.

...Candles...

One of the first things I thought of to do was light candles and pray. This occurred to many people. A popular thing to do on the internet is to use virtual candles. I have displayed a few here.

These candles are from Carterlady. These were the first candles I heard about.

This candle was from DSpirit at The Site Fights. She has asked us all to sign a page with our prayers and to pass this candle along. I think it was originally sent by D'Speedster.
