Welcome to the Minstrel's Square!
Currently, the only place you can actually hear music is in the Realm of Spirit. A long time ago, we used to have music playing on all of the pages, but
have since decided not to instrude on our visitors as they wander through the lands of Midnight Enchantment. Instead, we now have a dedicated Minstrel's Square! Here you will learn about music that our faeries and other citizens love. Visit often because as we hear of other musicians, we will add their information here. We had a difficult time deciding exactly who to ask to care for our music, as the music is not easily categorized. Finally, we brought Timbre, guardian of singing and the voice here to take care of Minstrel's Square. She has agreed to this assignment and does not limit her task to just the singing, but to the music itself.
Composers & Musicians
One of the earliest composers that we used was a man named Tom Williams III. He was also known as Dreamsharer. He made such beautiful music. The Dreamsharer had some health problems and I'm really not sure what has happened to him. His web site no longer exists. The best site that I've seen that still has midis to download is here.
Another favorite of ours has been Bruce deBoer. We often use his midis in our email stationery.
We have a few CDs of Elaine Silver, who has the most magickal faerie voice.
Another favorite of ours is anything by Enya. Her voice is breathtaking. The midi playing in our Realm of Spirit is The Memory of Trees by Enya.
We used to have a lot of Bjorn Lynne midis playing here and it was (and still is) definitely enchanting.
The Mediaeval Baebes is an amazing group of women with the most incredible voices. They perform music that is incluenced by the Mediaeval period. Their costumes and makeup are nothing less than stunning.
I think we have all of Gary Stadler's CDs. Faerie music. What more is there to say? The CD cover art is inspired.
Where can you buy faery music?
You may be wondering how you can buy this music. Most of the links above have music for purchase. We do have a few special online places we like to shop for faery music.
Ladyslipper Music by Women: this is our absolute favorite place to buy music.
Sequoia Records: We have bought some music through this company. If you sign up for their newsletter, you get links to downloadable MP3s :)
We have some jukeboxes that play music all the time.
